Children's camps in Estonia in summer 2026: how to choose a suitable camp for your child

Children's camps in Estonia in summer 2026: how to choose a suitable camp for your child

Summer is a time when it is especially important for a child not just to “have something to do,” but to relax, enjoy a change of environment, make new friends, try new activities, and feel more independent. For parents, however, summer often begins with a very practical question: where should they send their child so that it will be safe, interesting, beneficial, and age-appropriate?

Estonia offers a wide selection of children's camps for the summer of 2026: overnight camps by the sea and in nature, day camps in Tallinn and other cities, Russian- and Estonian-language programmes, and language, sports, creative, science, IT, and adventure camps.

The more options there are, the harder it is to decide. One camp promises an active holiday, another English lessons, a third creativity, a fourth sports, and a fifth the sea and adventures. Parents should look not only at the attractive description but also at specific details: where the camp takes place, what age group it is suitable for, what language the programme is conducted in, whether accommodation is included in the price, what the price includes, how safety is organised, and who works with the children.

Below is a selection of children's camps in Estonia for summer 2026. Before registering your child, be sure to confirm the dates, availability, price, participation terms, and language of the specific session with the organizer.

Residential camps in Estonian

An Estonian-language camp can be a good choice for a child who already studies in Estonian, wants more language practice, or is ready for an immersive language environment through games, sports, and communication. If the child is not yet confident in the language, it is worth asking in advance how the organizers help children adjust.

How to choose a camp: a short checklist for parents

Before registering your child, check not only the programme but also the details. When it comes to a children's camp, almost no detail is insignificant.

1. Child's age
The camp must be suitable for the child's age. If a 7-year-old child ends up in a group of teenagers, they may find it difficult. If a teenager ends up among younger children, they may become bored.

2. Programme language
Specify the language used for activities, daily instructions and communication. This is particularly important for Russian-speaking families when the camp is listed as having an Estonian or international programme.

3. Camp format
If the child has not yet stayed overnight without their parents, they should not be sent straight to a longer residential camp. It is better to start with a day camp or a shorter session.

4. Safety
Ask how many adults work with the group, whether the caregivers or instructors have experience with children, how supervision of the children is organised, and what is done in the event of illness, conflict or severe anxiety in a child.

5. Meals
Specify how many times a day the child will be fed and whether allergies, special diets or dietary restrictions can be accommodated.

6. Activities by the water
If the camp involves the sea, a lake, a swimming pool, SUP, or swimming, be sure to ask who is responsible for water safety.

7. Price
Check what the price includes. Sometimes transport, materials, excursions, meals or additional activities must be paid for separately.

Tallinn's support helps make children's camps more affordable for families

In 2026, the City of Tallinn is supporting the organisation of camps for children and young people to make summer camp holidays more affordable for families. With the city's support, 33 camps for children and young people are being held this year, with places for more than 6900 children and young people. The city allocated 196 000 euros for this purpose.

The subsidy is 4 euros per day for each participant registered in Tallinn. This means that for a child whose registered residence is in Tallinn, the camp organiser may receive a subsidy from the city, helping to reduce the cost of the camp and make participation more affordable for families.

Before registering, parents should ask the organiser whether the specific camp is among those supported by Tallinn and whether the subsidy is already reflected in the price or calculated separately. It is also important to clarify whether the child must be registered as a resident of Tallinn to receive the subsidy.

This is good news for families, because the price of a summer camp can be one of the most important factors when making a decision. If a child wants to attend several sessions or there are several children in the family, even a small daily subsidy can make the total cost noticeably more affordable.

Why it is important for organisers to format their listing correctly

For parents, a children's camp is not just a service. It is a matter of trust. Parents entrust the organiser with what is most precious to them — their child. Therefore, a camp listing should not be a short sentence saying “children's summer camp, call us”, but a proper and thorough presentation.

On Easyfind, the organiser can create a listing as a mini-page for the camp: add a detailed description, photos, a video, a PDF file with the programme or price list, company information, quick contact buttons, reviews, and a rating. Parents do not have to search for information across different websites and social media — everything important can be in one place.

Special offers can also be used separately: early registration, a sibling discount, last available places in a session, a seasonal offer, or a themed week. Expert articles help not only to promote the camp, but also to answer parents' real questions: how to prepare a child for their first camp session, what to pack, how to choose a language camp, and how to tell whether a child is ready for a residential camp.

The more specific the listing is, the greater the trust. Parents do not need general promises but clear answers: where, when, for whom, in what language, what the programme includes and how to get in touch.

Summary

A summer camp can become one of the brightest experiences of the year for a child. However, a good choice begins not with advertising, but with carefully comparing the options. Consider the child's age, the language of the programme, the camp format, activities, safety, catering, and the actual conditions.

In Estonia, there are options for different families in summer 2026: Russian- and Estonian-language camps, day and residential camps, and sports, creativity, science and language programmes. The main thing is not to choose the most impressive-sounding or popular camp, but the one that truly suits your child.

Before registering, be sure to confirm the dates, prices, availability and terms with the organiser. If you organise a camp yourself, present the information so that parents do not have to make assumptions. The more clearly and honestly you present your programme, the easier it is for a family to make a decision.
